Childhood experiences play a fundamental role in shaping an individual's personality and emotional well-being throughout adulthood. This article discusses how childhood trauma, neglect, abuse, and lack of affection contribute to various psychological issues, including anxiety, trust issues, low self-esteem, and personality disorders that may interfere with healthy interpersonal relationships. Using a descriptive approach supported by relevant psychological literature, the article explains that unresolved childhood experiences often influence emotional regulation, self-perception, and social behavior later in life. It also emphasizes that although childhood experiences significantly affect personal development, individuals are not destined to remain victims of their past. Healing requires personal responsibility, supportive relationships, professional psychological assistance when necessary, healthy lifestyle practices such as regular exercise, and spiritual growth that nurtures hope and resilience. The article concludes that recovery from psychological wounds is a lifelong process requiring patience, self-awareness, and continuous effort. While the past shapes who people become, it does not determine who they will be in the future, as healing enables individuals to build healthier relationships and achieve greater emotional well-being.
